JOB OPPORTUNITIES
New York State (NYS) Registered Apprenticeships are “earn while you learn” programs where individuals learn a skilled trade through on-the-job training (hands-on experience) and supplemental related classroom instruction, while getting paid. Training can last from one to five years, depending on the trade. General information about becoming an apprentice can be found on NYS DOL’s apprenticeship webpage.
All current NYS Registered Apprenticeship opportunities are listed online and can be found at on.ny.gov/apprenticeship-announcements. Individuals interested in becoming a Registered Apprentice can search for openings in the specific region(s) they are seeking employment. This page is frequently updated, so New Yorkers are encouraged to check it frequently for new opportunities. In addition to these postings, there are additional apprenticeship opportunities posted on the NYS Job Bank: http://www.jobcentral.org/ny
